The Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Salim Mvurya, has taken a significant step towards empowering Kenyan youth with the launch of the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) program. The program aims to unlock youth-led development and provide opportunities for young Kenyans to thrive.

During a meeting with youth representatives from all 47 counties held at Weston hotel in Nairobi, CS Mvurya unveiled the NYOTA logo and initiated a roundtable discussion to gather feedback and insights from the youth. The CS also announced that KSh 165 million has been approved for the National Youth Council (NYC) elections, paving the way for the NYC to work with the state department to organize the much-anticipated elections.

The NYOTA program is a bold initiative that seeks to empower Kenyan youth by providing them with the necessary skills, resources, and support to drive development in their communities. The program is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of young Kenyans, enabling them to realize their full potential and contribute to the country's growth and development.

The event was attended by the Youth Affairs and Creative Economy Principal Secretary, Mr. Fikirini Jacobs, representatives from institutions under the state department, and various partners.
