Kalonzo Musyoka has unveiled the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) candidates who will fly the party’s flag in the upcoming November 27, 2025 by-elections, presenting the team as a symbol of renewal and a fresh start for his political movement.

Introducing two parliamentary candidates and six MCA aspirants, Kalonzo said the selection represents the aspirations of diverse communities and signals the party’s readiness to compete with energy and integrity.

“We believe leadership is about service, integrity, and standing with the people in every corner of our country,” he said. “That is why we present candidates who truly reflect the hopes of their communities.”

Among the candidates are Samuel Kombe Nzai for Magarini Constituency in Kilifi County and Dayon Mbare for Kasipul Constituency in Homa Bay County. Ward-level nominees include Anthony Kyalo Kisoi (Mumbuni North, Machakos), Daniel Kiranti (Purko, Narok), Alex Obare Nyantika (Nyansiongo, Nyamira), Shem Makori Nyanumba (Ekerenyo, Nyamira), and Peter Lokelo (Nanaam, Turkana). In Nyamaiya ward, Nyamira County, the party will hold an internal contest between James Kamanda Teya and Daniel Mirambo to determine the final candidate.

Kalonzo stressed that WPF’s rebranding is more than cosmetic, describing it as a bold shift toward accountability, patriotism, and service. “This is a new chapter. We want Kenyans to know that when we talk of leadership, we mean action, not empty promises,” he said.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to building strong alliances with opposition partners. “We are in consultation with our coalition partners so that in some locations we field a single candidate. Together, we shall #KomboaKenya.”

Party leaders, including Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti and Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi, stood alongside Kalonzo in a show of unity, underscoring the weight the party is placing on the by-elections.

Kalonzo used the moment to rally supporters for the campaign ahead, saying the by-elections would be an opportunity for Kenyans to send a message of change. “We will not be distracted by lies or rumors. Our people deserve leadership that responds, delivers, and transforms,” he told the gathering.

As the candidates were unveiled, the Wiper Patriotic Front signaled its intent to reclaim political ground and re-energize its grassroots support base. The November polls will now serve as the first test of the party’s new identity and renewed energy.
